News is an e-zine with news reports and articles on prayer, revival and
church growth worldwide. It is aimed at leaders, intercessors, church
planters and other Christians who carry a vision for the advance of God's Kingdom in every sphere of life. The reports are meant to
encourage, challenge and inform.Joel News was launched in January 1997 by journalist Marc van der Woude (picture) and is published by Joel Ministries, a registered non-profit organisation in The Netherlands. EDITOR'S BIO Marc van der Woude (38) holds an MA in history and international relations, and worked as a journalist, communications professional and strategy consultant. For several years he worked with prayer movements in Europe and currently serves on the core teams of the DAWN European Network (saturation church planting movements) and Connect Europe (emerging leaders). WE CALL HIM JOEL The name Joel News is derived from the prophet Joel, who prophesied that 'in the last days' God will pour out his Spirit on all people... A prophet who announced miracles and restoration, but also called for repentance. Prayer, a return to God, and the advance of God's Kingdom in missions and society are the marks of every true revival. The Joel News logo was designed by David Sörensen from Bruges, Belgium. The yellow waves are an expression of the 'vertical' work of the Holy Spirit in prayer, worship and prophecy. It also speaks of fire and passion and cannot be controlled. The blue waves are an expression of the 'horizontal' work of the Holy Spirit in the advance of the Kingdom of God, church growth, church planting and the apostolic ministry. It also speaks of the River of Life, watering the nations and bringing forth fruit. THEOLOGY Joel News submits to the authority of Jesus Christ and the Bible, and the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Joel News is interdenominational and publishes about what God is doing in the breadth of the worldwide Church and beyond. Like Paul writes to the Christians in Ephesus: "Then, together will all the saints, you will be able to grasp how wide and long and high and deep the love of Christ is, that surpasses all knowledge, so that you may be filled with the fullness of God."
