JN398-1. Resources on leadership
SERVANT LEADER CONSULTATION - International Renewal Ministries is calling all city reachers together for a Servant Leader Consultation, June 10-13, 2002. Their desire is to hear what the Lord is saying to various city-wide servant leader teams, to share experiences, discuss best practices and more.

PRAYING LIKE A LEADER - God is not looking for better methods, machinery and motivations. He is looking for better people, leaders who are men and women of God. Rick Warren shares four secrets to praying like a leader: base your request on God's character; confess the sin in your life; claim the promises God made to you; be very specific in what you ask for.

ACCOUNTABILITY - Christians should develop healthy accountability relationships with others, says Jon Walker in this excellent article. He gives four suggestions: you need to be open and authentic; you need to hear a Godly perspective; you need a trustworthy partner; you need to be consistent.

LIFE-LONG LEARNING - "An effective leader is a life-long learner," says Dave Kraft in this article. "He or she learns at all times, under all circumstances, from all sorts of people. To stay relevant in our leadership and to know what is going on with the people we lead, we need to be constantly learning, growing, stretching, getting out of our comfort zones, reading new things, trying new things."

PREVENTING LEADER DERAILMENT - How to support and enable your leadership to succeed? Malcolm Webber noticed three common weaknesses of derailed leaders: they have difficulties in selecting and building a team; they have difficulties in transitioning from the technical level to the strategic level; they don't offer proper follow-through. He also lists trait differences between successful and derailed leaders, and offers 8 steps toward success. An excellent resource for everyone who is training leaders, either in the Church or the secular world. PROPHETIC VISION - "I saw portals of glory opening in the heavens over many specific locations in the earth," says Canadian prophet Pat Cocking in the March edition of her 'War Room Prayer Directive'. "Beneath the portals were individuals and groups of believers who were completely focussed on the face of Jesus and His Kingdom. Their attention was heavenward. They were postured in faith and in unity to contend for the manifestation of the Lord's glory in the earth."

12 POINTS FOR 2002 - American prophet Church Pierce published '12 points for 2002' to pray about. He foresees a year of violence, supernatural revelation, much shifting in the Church, a corporate anointing for worship and more.

58 DAYS OF FOCUSED PRAYER - American prayer leader Chuck Pierce announced a period of 58 days of focused prayer and fasting for breakthrough. "As I was seeking the Lord at the beginning of the year, the Lord spoke these words to me: There is coming a 58 day intense period of prayer and fasting for My Body. This period will be your shifting time for the season of revival that is now upon you. This will be a period of removal. This will be a period of restoration. This will be a period of preparing the way and setting the course for the future." The key passage for these 58 days is Isaiah 58.

PASTORS & INTERCESSORS - "Do you know of churches where the partnership between pastors and intercessors really functions well and on a mature level?" we asked the readers of the National Pastors Prayer Network in the USA. Eddie Smith responded with a clear "yes" and briefly explored possible partnerships between pastors and intercessors. We would welcome your insights as well. Since 11 September the number of Arab Muslims responding to broadcasts of video programs of Arab Vision, the main independent producer of Christian television programs for the Arab World, has grown dramatically. Have a look at http://www.arabvision.org for testimonies of Arabs watching these programs (millions every week). Arab Vision needs your prayer support. If you are interested to pray with us, please write to <prayer@arabvision.org>.
