(Rick Warren) --- JN411-1. TYPICALLY GOD: Miracle in Asbest, Russia Nadja lives in Asbest, Russia. During an evangelistic outreach with British evangelist David Hathaway, she told how God had changed her life. The following is an extract from the 'Prophetic Vision' magazine, with a circulation of 250,000 copies in five languages: Nadja was completely healthy until the birth of her second daughter. After that, she contracted a rare blood disease affecting her internal organs. Operations and medicine only worsened the situation, and specialists in Moscow and St. Petersburg were unable to help. One day, lying in hospital in Asbest, only half aware of her surroundings as a result of her medicine, she heard a doctor say "If you want to live, you better pray." Nadja was close to death; the hospital had already given her belongings to her husband. At the time, Hathaway was holding an evangelistic outreach in Asbest's stadium. On the opening evening, dark rain clouds gathered, and it started to rain just as he began to speak. He was not deterred, prayed aloud and declared to the astonished crowd that the sun would return within five minutes. The miracle happened - while a heavy storm took place outside the stadium. Friends had taken Nadja to the stadium, where she experienced the miracle herself. It gave her the courage to ask Jesus to heal her body. While she prayed, she felt something like fire coursing through her body. When her husband saw what God had done, he stopped his drinking and changed his life too. Nadja was healed completely, and her story is being broadcast on Russian television. Source: Prophetic Vision --- JN411-2. PRAYER FOCUS: Disciple Namibia 2020 A growing number of Christian leaders in Namibia are working with a national initiative called 'Disciple Namibia 2020'. The vision is to help the entire Body of Christ in Namibia to co-operatively work together to incarnate Jesus Christ in every segment of the community and in every place, so that Namibia will be covered with 'the knowledge of the glory of the Lord'. As part of this ongoing effort the fourth Disciple Namibia 2002 National Consultation will take place from the 18th to the 21st of September 2002. The organisers say "we believe this consultation not just to be another consultation, but an appointment God has with the Namibian Church." All the Church bodies in Namibia officially agreed to be in unity with the Disciple Namibia 2020 Movement. This is the first time in the history of Namibia that this has happened. Let's pray for a mighty outpouring of the Spirit of prayer and unity on the Church in Namibia, that the Church in this nation will regain her 'first love' for Jesus Christ and reach out to the unreached. PRAYER FOCUS: Open doors for missionaries to Russia Victor Barousse, an American missionary to Russia who oversees the House of Prayer in Irkutsk and a number of other churches in Siberia, calls for prayer. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied him the invitation for a one-year Religious Affairs visa, while granting the invitation to his wife and three children. This was just days before their departure from the country to renew their visas. To add to the official abuse, two policemen with automatic weapons and an officer pulled him off the train and detained him at the Estonian border, while the train pulled away with his wife and children peering out the windows. This kind of treatment is becoming all to familiar with both Catholic and Protestant missionaries in Russia. It is clearly an internal policy, and is becoming more systematic, in spite of President Putin's denial of any knowledge of such ill treatment. Let us pray for continued open doors in Russia, that Victor's case and others like it will be resolved so that they can continue to bring the Gospel to the Russian people. See You At The Pole started in Texas in 1990 with just a few young people and has been growing ever since. It is now in 20 countries and is one of the largest youth prayer movements in the world.
