TYPICALLY GOD: Pregnant by prophecy Conrad Lampan is an evangelist from Argentina who now lives in Wales and regularly ministers in other nations. On his website he relates several encouraging testimonies. A pastor from America wrote him: "When you came to minister here last Feb. 3, 2002, you may also remember that I brought a woman up to you and told you that they had been trying to have a baby for the last 3 years and she was up to that point barren. As you were praying for her you turned to me and said that all you were hearing from the Lord was '10 months', that the Lord was saying that in ten months she was going to hold a baby of her own in her arms. I told you not to tell just me but to tell her, which you did. "You may remember that I contacted you when this woman became pregnant and that her due date was right around that '10 month' timeframe. We both expressed our thanks to God for His faithfulness and it has been a point of testimony in our church ever since. Well, she has had the baby now, a little girl whose name is Faith Elizabeth, 8lbs. and all are well. "The most interesting part of this story is that this baby was born on December 3, 2002 - 10 months exactly to the day from the prophecy you gave from the Lord. TYPICALLY GOD: Kidneys healed, doctor amazed Romy Zimmermann, who works in an old people's home in Switzerland, reports about a miraculous healing she experienced: "It all started about six months ago - back pains, headaches and a gradual loss of energy joined my daily routine. I tried a vitamin treatment and took it a bit easier, thinking I would get over it. Wrong! The pain became so intense that I was unable to get out of bed one morning. Working in an old people's home, I know how a 90-year-old gets out of bed, and that was how I felt. I visited my doctor, and the medical machinery started rolling: blood tests every day, ultrasound, urine tests, x-rays and all the rest. The test results worsened, the pain increased daily, particularly in my left kidney. "Early July 2003 was unforgettable: a sea of pain. On July 6th, I went to my doctor to tell him that I couldn't stand it any more. He told me to go to the hospital. When I arrived home to prepare, the telephone rang. Walter Bernhard, a local intercessor, asked me if I wanted to come for prayer. I arrived at 5pm, and was healed at 6pm! Everyone who has suffered pain for some time knows what it's like when the pain stops - I was as happy as a little child! It was clear that I no longer needed to go to hospital. "On Monday morning, I put a note in my doctor's letterbox 'No hospital, I am healthy. I'll come by later'. You can imagine how my doctor reacted when I told him of my miraculous healing. He asked whether he could perform some tests. 'Of course,' I told him. His astonishment only grew when all the tests showed completely normal results. God is good!" Source: Friday Fax --- JN460-3. PRAYER FOCUS: Olympic Games in Greece Next year the Olympic Games will be held in Athens. "Intercessors should be aware that there is also a strong spiritual aspect to it," reports prayer ministry Target Europe. "The cradle of the worship of Zeus and of humanism is in Greece and the land urgently needs deliverance of these. The enemy is trying to rebuild the ancient altars of the Greek gods and to contaminate the nations of the world with them again. Scarcely has any mythology influenced Europe as much as the Greek one. The name Europe comes from a legend where a woman (Europa) is raped by Zeus, the father of the gods, in the form of a bull." Pray for: 1. A release of the right strategy to turn the plans of the enemy through the Olympic Games upside down and release the workers that God wants to use here. 2. A new wave of grace for Greece, that Greece's spiritual and natural calling can be restored. 3. An outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Cyprus. This island is the bone of contention between Greece and Turkey and could become a blessing for both countries. Source: Target Europe --- JN460-4. WEBLOG: What are prayer leaders hearing from God? Joel News editor Marc van der Woude attended two meetings for prayer leaders in Europe, and relates on his weblog: "It was confirming to hear that God's Spirit is obviously saying the same things to different people in different nations: we are entering a new season, and in order to be able to move with God's Spirit we need to come up higher (up to His level, Is. 55), receive fresh revelation and (re)align ourselves with the purposes of God for our nations and continent." RESOURCE: House church movement in Europe Last month house church leaders and facilitators from different European nations met for a consultation in Denmark. Danish journalist Svend Madsen, also one of the hosts of the event, wrote a report. The Swiss and Germans are working with a training course for radical house church planters called 'Luke 10', developed by Wolfgang Simson. This Spring 2003 issue titled 'The fragrance of justice' contains inspiring interviews with Christians who minister to the poor. Worship leader and church planter David Ruis says: "It's so cool to see a totally broken glue-sniffer sitting right next to a millionaire, both in the same community, one embracing the other." And Kim Montroll who works with at-risk children stresses: "Following Jesus means moving toward closer relationships with the poor. So it's not an option to say, 'I want to deepen my life in Jesus, deepen my spiritual journey,' but make relating to the poor optional. We need the poor to grow spiritually."
